Halogen Designs had the opportunity to design a Jeff Saturday poster for this weekend’s fundraiser for the People’s Burn Foundation (PBF) at the AFC Championship. Anyone who donates outside Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis will receive this limited edition Jeff Saturday poster.
Use of Design:
We chose this photo of Jeff Saturday because it represents charging ahead and not looking back; this is relevant to the current status of both the Colts and PBF organizations. This poster was designed when the Colts had just come off of two tough losses. They have now overcome them by winning 20-3 in their last game against the Ravens. PBF has faced tough economic challenges and is now moving ahead into the future leaving the past behind by engaging the community to support burn victims and their families. We tried to captivate the imagery of both situations by adding a grunge effect to fade out whats behind Jeff. The grunge effect served as good contrast to enhance the colors of Saturday’s blue jersey charging ahead demonstrating that whats behind him isn’t relevant to the future.
We encourage everyone to stop by Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday to donate & receive a Limited Edition Jeff Saturday Poster designed by Halogen Designs.

“Bud” Russell, currently serving as Vice-Chair of Management Information Systems (MIS) at Score Chapter 6 has written an interesting article on page 4 of the indyscore.org newsletter about the need of a web presence for all businesses. He focuses on the benefits of a website and follows up with how to select a good web designer.
“There are lots of good website designers and several of them here in our area. I suggest you ask other businesses and friends who created their websites. Once you have a list of possible designers, here are the things to consider: Portfolio — Get a list of the websites they have done. Look at all of those sites. Do they show variety? Skill? Attractiveness? Response — Will they perform in a timely manner? Can they meet your deadlines? Can they implement site Updates quickly? Contract — Do they have a written contract? Does the contract clearly make you the owner of the domain and site content? Prices — Compare prices for similar services. Site Performance — Are their sites easy to find? Try to find each of the sites in their portfolio with a search engine by asking for things a customer might search for. Statistics — Does the designer offer you a way to see information about the number of hits on your site, where the hits originated, what the viewers searched for, and other information that will help you market your product or service? Satisfaction — Are their clients happy? Call a few and ask about service and satisfaction. A good website will draw new customers and help keep your current customers happy. Every business needs a web presence.”
Bud has really hit the nail on the head with this one. Halogen Designs addresses these issues up front with proven methods that work. We have a proprietary statistics program, Elevate by Halogen Designs, and Content Management System, Control by Halogen Designs, that allow you to easily extract your data in open formats for review from your marketing department.

Today I got to spend the day with Michael Miller at M Productions. His website is on the way and today was about getting a feel for the design while observing him in his element. Miller was recording “iPrtyCrzy” for up and coming rap group Lux & P to a track produced by The Nod Factor Productions. Lux & P’s incredible talent mixed with Miller’s addiction to perfection took us into the world of mainstream rap. It was an exciting experience watching and listening as a song came together piece by piece. James George and I were asked to hop in the booth and record, “EH” to add depth to the hook. It took me several tries to get it down and still they had to edit it. Miller finished mixing the recorded track, “iPrtyCrzy,” which will be found on the Lux & P’s myspace. This experience has given me so much respect for what these artists do to make music. My design for up-and-coming mproco.com aims to capture Michael’s passion and reflect his persistent hard work. Expect to hear about mproco.com in the following weeks.

There are a lot of exciting things going on with HD right now. A wave of unique clientele and a new online presence for Halogen Designs are leading the focus of our fast paced team. The People’s Burn Foundation (PBF) recently voted Jim Shaffer as the executive director with the focus of, “enhancing its vision, mission, and identity in central Indiana and around the state.” Read more about Jim Shaffer
Mr. Shaffer immediately focused on realigning the foundation’s identity with a modern look and loving mission. A 2 week deadline was set with Halogen Designs to meet the much anticipated appearance on the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom show. After many designs HD and PBF decided on the blue heart logo. “The People’s Burn Foundation wanted a fresh new brand to focus on the name of the organization rather than continuing with the former logo and acronym, PBF. We also wanted to retain the importance of the heart symbol to the organization in a more contemporary and clean look. We are very pleased with the new logo, which has received many favorable comments in presenting a creative new identity,” said Jim Shaffer.
Jeff Saturday of the Indianapolis Colts raised $3,000 for PBF and their logo was featured on Bob and Tom’s website gaining national exposure for the foundation and its new identity (currently here http://www.q95.com/pages/bob-and-tom.html?page=2). For more information please check out The Peoples Burn Foundation.
