Organic vs. Inorganic Search

organic1 Organic vs. Inorganic Search

Traditionally speaking organic search has always found more supporters than critics unlike its counterpart… inorganic search. The reasons are plenty and easily conceivable.

Climb up the ladder

The greatest challenge for businesses investing in Internet marketing is to gain a good audience and then try to turn all those visitors into customers.  Of course one way of achieving this is to invest in “Paid Ads,” but essentially such ads have always seemed to have a consumer trust deficit. People innately have more confidence for engagements that unfold naturally, without any external interference, and it holds true for Internet Marketing as well. Search engines earn their revenue from paid ads, but customers getting search results thrive on the material produced by organic search results because of its relevancy to their cause and the variety of alternatives produced..each one fitting their description reasonably well. It is this consumer loyalty that generates business through greater frequency of click rates and makes a firm’s ascent to the top slot in the search results possible.

organic2 Organic vs. Inorganic Search

One more thing that we shouldn’t take for granted is that organic search results are more trustworthy for the user and present yet another challenge for all small and big businesses “ to be there” whenever the user wants to know about something they offer. So businesses must make a conscious effort to make themselves visible in that search so that they run less of a chance of risking their potential clients  in the hands of a smaller company… or shall we say a smarter company which just happened to be there and you.. .the big boss was not! Businesses often seek assistance from experienced companies, like us, that aid them to get better results with Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Benediction of Organic Search… it’s Free!

It is free to submit to Google.  There are other organic search engines around that do so also. There are still others like Yahoo that have paid inclusion options. With paid inclusions the page is destined to get indexed quickly and stay there for as long as the subscription is maintained but no particular slot is promised.

In the end it is the matter that the website is made of that will help businesses to raise their search engine positions. Furnishing solid content is always the most reliable way to enhance customer figures for any business eventually.

What is Organic and Inorganic Search?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

search1 226x300 What is Organic and Inorganic Search? With all the buzz words in vogue, what does one really do when we come across another one.. Quite simple… we Google it. And so I did too. With articles, blogs and discussions on TV shows so obsessed with the words “organic and inorganic searches”, I too “Googled” it. To my dismay it had nothing to do with the greenhouse effect, the global warming or how solar energy can be harnessed to produce something extraordinary to safeguard the future of humanity from an energy crisis! The answer was pretty much not in congruence with anything I had imagined. It was simply the “how of the search results” when we “Google, yahoo or Bing” anything!

And as the will of fortune would have it. Businesses and the way we do them cannot possibly be isolated from the huge mercantile prospects this phenomenon has to offer.

Search Engines i.e. Google, Yahoo, Bing combine advertising and search results on their search result pages. But what is different is that though apparently the adverts seem deceivingly similar, the way these engines search is different. They can either do so by being ethical and hence yielding sites in search results in an order that most closely resembles the keywords we punch OR conversely reveal search results in order that is based on whichever site pays them the most to be up there owning the top slots! The former phenomenon is alluded to as an “Organic Search”, the latter of course, its antonym and hence the “Inorganic Search’’.

“Organic” really means ‘pure, natural, untainted’ and so the organic search would return results assorted on the criteria of the “keyword relevancy” and the material contained in that website. Google has been a strong advocate for natural searches by setting precedence and leading the way in this domain.” Inorganic or Sponsored Listings” have always been clearly separated from the organic search results at Google. Many other search engines amalgamate the two sorts. Many others still would only render listings based on “who paid the most money” such as the Overture.com. This of course has its critics. Consumer right activists speak vehemently on the subject propagating it as yet another infringement of their prerogatives. It is often defined as “pay per click” advertising, an expression invented by John Kilroy in an article entitled “Life outside the Google top 10” written in 2006. Pay per click is an Internet advertising model used on websites in which advertisers pay their host only when their ad is clicked. Websites that use PPC ads will display an advertisement whenever a keyword query matches an advertiser’s keyword lists.search2 What is Organic and Inorganic Search?

From this emerges the concept of “Search Engine Marketing (SEM)” that quite evidently is marketing your product using search engines by paid inclusions i.e. via Inorganic search results.”Search Engine Optimization (SEO)” however is the concept of enhancing the traffic to your website from search engines both in terms of quality and volume by organics search results.
